Math Tutoring
During the school year the tutoring process is tied to the homework and test schedule of the student. The first goal is to have the student fully comprehend the material being studied. Secondly, the student must perform enough repetitions in each area to be able to retain the information long term. This often means creating additional sample problems in areas of concern and even giving additional homework where necessary.
Many students are not able to comprehend 100% of the material in class at the pace set by the teacher. Often the tutoring sessions use the nightly homework to find gaps in the students knowledge and fill them.
Sessions prior to tests focus on reviewing the material the test will cover. This also often reveals weaknesses that must be corrected prior to the test.
